Introduction and scope of application
1.1 this policy is developed by the VIATIMER development team (hereinafter referred to as"We" or"Viatimer") , for all natural person users who download, install and use Viatimer mobile application (hereinafter referred to as"The application") .
1.2 this policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, transfer, publicly disclose and protect your personal information and audio data, and explains your rights in this regard.
1.3 together with the terms of use, this policy constitutes a complete legal document for your use of Viatimer. If there is any inconsistency between the two, this policy shall prevail.
The types of information we collect and the scenarios
2.1 account information
2.1.1. Registration: when you use email registration, we only collect email addresses, user nicknames, and encrypted login passwords.
2.1.2 third-party logins: if we add applegoogle logins in the future, we will retrieve your unique identifier and display name, not your real name or date of birth.
2.2 audio and media files
2.2.1 local import: MP3, M4A, WAV, etc. that you added through the"Import local file" function are only saved in the device sandbox, not uploaded to the server.
2.2.2 one-click recording: you capture the"Recording" function of the rain, fan sound, ASMR, etc. , the default sampling rate of 48khz, file header only technical metadata (length, code rate) , does not contain location information.
2.3 focus on logging and using data
2.3.1 Timing Record: Start/end timestamp, duration, selected tags (Natural, Musical, Animal, Ambient, Instrumental, Electronic) , percentage of play volume.
2.3.2 interactive events: Play/Pause, skip, countdown adjustment, background lifetime for crash rate statistics and performance optimization.
2.4 device and log information
2.4.1 equipment identification: System version, model, for compatibility testing.
2.4.2 web logs: IP address, time zone, request time, error stack, automatically deleted after 30 days.
2.4.3 diagnostic logs: only sent manually via settings-feedback and diagnostics; a preview window pops up before sending, allowing you to clear sensitive paths with one click.
Purpose and manner of information use
3.1 provision of core services: timing, audio playback, live backstage, focus log visualization.
3.2 improving the product experience:
3.2.1 optimizing the default recommendation list through anonymous aggregate data judgment.
3.2.2. Fix flashback problems when certain models are playing in the background using the crash log.
3.3 safety and compliance:
3.3.1 detecting and preventing malicious scripts from repeatedly calling the timing interface.
3.3.2 compliance with retention obligations under EU GDPR, CCPA, PIPL and other applicable privacy regulations.
Information Sharing, transfer and public disclosure
4.1 sharing: we do not share your personally identifiable information with any third party except:
4.1.1 obtain your express prior consent;
4.1.2 at the request of the court, the public prosecutor's office, the Public Security Bureau and the regulatory authority, and subject to legality review by the legal authority;
4.1.3 the cloud infrastructure provider (AWS, Alibaba Cloud) is entrusted with the encrypted storage as required by the user agreement and the trustee has no authority to decrypt it.
4.2 assignment: in the event of a merger, acquisition or liquidation, we will provide you with the name and contact information of the recipient and ensure that the recipient remains bound by this policy or will be reauthorized.
4.3 public disclosure: in principle, we do not disclose any personal information to the public; if we launch a"Community share" feature in the future, your nicknames, avatars, and attention span will be displayed anonymously or under pseudonyms, and can be turned off in settings.
Information storage
5.1 local data: audio with raw logs saved long-term on your device, uninstalled applications are automatically cleared.
5.2 cloud backup data: stored until you delete or deactivate your cloud account; we have no right to delete it unilaterally.
5.3 server logs: IP, error stack and other temporary logs, save after 30 days automatically anonymized or deleted.
Your rights and the path to their realization
6.1 access and Export: Settings-data management.
6.2 correction: account nicknames can be changed at any time on my-edit profile; local audio filenames can be freely renamed.
6.3 delete:
6.3.1 single log: home left Swipe → Delete, unrecoverable.
6.3.2 all local data: Setup-data management-clear local cache, one click complete.
6.3.3 account cancellation: Setup-account security-account cancellation, completed within 48 hours of email confirmation.
6.4 revoking consent: you can turn off the microphone in system settings, turn off cloud syncing, or uninstall the application, and we will stop collecting the data.
6.5 data portability: the exported JSON is open source and can be parsed by any compatible application.
Protection of minors
7.1 Viatimer for users aged 13(Coppa)/16(EU GDPR) + .
7.2 if we discover that the personal information of a child under the age of 13 has been collected, we will delete the relevant account and local cache within 24 hours and send an notification email to the Guardian.
7.3 guardians may access the"Child data deletion channel" chen.qi@idea8.help submit proof of identity and proof of relationship, we will complete the deletion within 3 business days after verification.
Third-party sdks and external links
8.1 the application may contain web links to white noise research papers and open source audio processing libraries; clicking on them will take you to an external browser. We are not responsible for the content of external sites. You are advised to check their privacy policies.
Policy change and notification
9.1 significant changes include, but are not limited to, an increase in the type of collection, a change in the purpose of use, a change in the objects to be shared, and a decrease in the rights of users.
9.2 notification: pop-up window, email, if you refuse to accept the change, you can stop using and apply for data export and logout within 30 days.
9.3 non-material changes (wording optimizations, typographic updates) will be published directly and will not be pushed separately.
